I Want One Of These

The phrase - a room of my own - is one I toss out when I want to push my husband's buttons. Actually, through the years it's become a joke between us. But I would truly love to have my own little personal sanctuary filled with my favorite things. A place to work, play, daydream, relax, indulge. Sometimes it's a garden shed and other times it's a dressing room. There are times when I want a private space, and then sometimes I want it to be a fun place I can share with friends.

For now I'll just keep dreaming. These make me smile!

  5. Like Lisa I too had a playhouse as a girl that my father built. He even hung bright yellow shutter with a matching flower box. ♥ I think those memories fuel the desire to have a special place all my own again. You posted such wonderful spots that would be any girls dream. We must never stop dreaming right?

  9. Ohhh that walk-in wardrobe with the piles of shoes on the floor is calling my name! A lovely idea to have a room of one's own...must try to find a little corner for myself somewhere in my house! LB x

  10. I am with your Rita....these are wonderful. I find my need for a special place of my own changes with the seasons. The most important thing for me is to follow the sun. Wherever it rests is where I want to be. You have put together a wonderful collection to dream upon :)

  11. Oh, I would LOVE a space of my own, just love it!!!

    A great selection here Rita, I am with Marsha, I would choose no.1....although I love the idea of a shed or summerhouse of some kind at the bottom of the garden.

    I would just settle for a corner with a comfy chair and a bookcase of my own most days though....that would be blissful :)

  15. Rita, I am with you on this one. I will take any of these beauties! I have always been partial to a bedroom of my own but what a treat to have one of these garden 'offices' so to speak!

    It's catch-up time for me. Honestly, I would be hard-pressed to choose among your choices. I've always been enchanted by the idea of leaving the house to go to a miniature space all my own somewhere in the garden.

    I actually do have a room of my own plus a corner of my own -- all closed in -- where I write and think.
